Elizabeth Willoughby is the founder and director of Universal Reflexology in New York City. Ms. Willoughby is a practitioner of Foot, Hand and Ear Reflexology. She was certified in Foot Reflexology in 1987 at the Reflexology School of Laura Norman and Associates in New York City. In 1989, she studied Hand and Ear Reflexology with William Flocco of the American School of Reflexology. Ms. Willoughby has studied advanced Reflexology techniques with Dwight Byers of the International School of Reflexology, Asian styles of Reflexology with Lillian Morton, Father Joseph Eugster, and Ayruvedic Reflexology with Sharon Stathis. She is nationally and state certified.

She studied Kinesthetic Anatomy and Physiology in Motion with Irene Dowd in 1991. In 1994, she completed pre-med studies at BMCC. She has also studied Gross Anatomy with Gil Headly at the Newark School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1997.

Ms. Willoughby opened her school, Universal Reflexology, in 1997 at the Madison Wellness Center in New York City. She trains and certifies people in Hand and Foot Reflexology. She was the vice President of the New York State Reflexology Association (NYSRA) from August, 2000 until December, 2003. She currently works for NYSRA as the recording secretary. In 2003, she received an award for the Reflexology program she created at the Hospital of Joint Diseases for Women with Disabilities. Ms. Willoughby has also worked in the Manhattan dental practice of Dr. Terry Gotthelf in 2002.

Ms. Willoughby is also a certified Bach Flower Essence therapist. Elizabeth also studied with Ian White of the Australian Bush Flower Essences and Steve Johnson of the Alaskan Flower Essence Projectand others. She does Flower Essence consultations and sometimes uses Flower Essences to heal emotional imbalances in her Reflexology clients. She has taught her Flower Essence Certification Program in New York City at the New York Open Center, the Madison Wellness Center and the Olive Leaf Wholeness Center.

In 1998 Ms. Willoughby received a certification from herbalist Peeka Trenkle at the New York Open Center in Green Medicine.

Ms. Willoughby moved from New York City to Montauk in January 2004. She lives with her husband, four small dogs, and one cat. She also volunteers with ARF in Operation Cat to rescue feral cats. Her new office, Planetary Reflexology and Mermaid Flower Essences, offers all Reflexology treatments and Flower Essence consultations. She is also available for lectures and classes.
